Steps Training project aims to advance the learning and skills of Asian Women in Nottingham and build the capacity of the local community. The service is provided in a small, safe, friendly, mainly female environment to women mainly but not exclusively from a Pakistani and Bangladeshi background who may be disadvantaged due to cultural difficulties, Family problems, financial barriers, or special educational needs. The programmes delivered are life changing introducing young women to lifetime learning, building confidence, Social skills and assertiveness, offering work experience, career planning, CV writing and mentors who act as Positive role models for young Asian women. The project has been running for the past seven years and in this time has achieved remarkable success, Training provided: Basic Computer Skills Level 1, Basic Skills ESOL Level 1, Soft Furnishing, Information Advice and Guidance Level 2, Childcare Level 2, Stress Management, Reflexology, Introduction to Massage. |
